We got two big ones this week. Tonight the Bills play the first regular season game in their new stadium. They face the Lions, and both teams come in 1-0 after dramatic wins last week.
Then Saturday, we have one of the most highly anticipated college football games of the season. Lane Kiffin returns to Ole Miss as the head coach of LSU, less than a year after leaving the Rebels right before their historic playoff run. Both teams are now ranked in the top 10.
Elsewhere, the Chiefs look like the Chiefs again, and one of the NFL’s most talented offenses goes up against what many believe to be one of the best defenses.

The stakes: The Bills open in their new stadium tonight. After more than 50 years in the old building, this is the first regular season game at the new Highmark Stadium, and it’s happening in primetime on a national stage.
Both teams are 1-0 and both won in dramatic fashion last week. Josh Allen was on the road in Houston and put up 36 points against what most people considered the best defense in the league, throwing for two touchdowns and running for two more, capped by a game winning drive.
For Detroit, they almost blew a 21 point lead and needed overtime to hold off New Orleans 31-30. The last time Detroit and Buffalo met, in 2024, they combined for 90 points and more than 1,000 yards of offense. Expect another high scoring affair tonight.
What to watch for: DJ Moore against the Detroit secondary. The Lions allowed 410 passing yards to the Saints in Week 1, and Buffalo now has a legitimate No. 1 receiver for the first time in years. Moore opened his Bills career with five catches for 100 yards. If Allen is able to keep that momentum and continue to connect with Moore, Detroit has a long night ahead.
Skin in the Game: Back D.J. Moore Over 59.5 receiving yards. Detroit's secondary is banged up and Moore has historically feasted on this defense, averaging nearly 93 yards per game across eight career meetings against the Lions. He's also settling in fast in Buffalo, leading the team with eight targets in his debut. With Allen finally having a true No. 1 again, this number feels low in a game where plenty of offense is expected. Remember this is for fun, not your rent money.
LSU VS OLE MISS | SATURDAY 7:30 PM, ABC

The stakes: The most anticipated revenge game of the college football season. Lane Kiffin went 55-19 at Ole Miss with three straight 10-win seasons, then left for LSU right before the Rebels made their historic playoff run last year. Things got ugly as fans even sent him off with boos as he boarded the plane out of Oxford. He described the return as a family reunion after a divorce.
This is also a genuine top-10 game. No. 7 LSU is 2-0 after crushing Clemson 51-10 and beating Louisiana Tech 45-14. No. 8 Ole Miss is 2-0 under Pete Golding, Kiffin's former defensive coordinator, who took over and led them to a playoff semifinal.
What to watch for: Which version of LSU's offense shows up against real competition. The Tigers are 2-0 and have scored 48 points a game, but the schedule has been forgiving to say the least. Sam Leavitt threw an early interception against Clemson in a game LSU largely won on the ground, then gave it away three more times against Louisiana Tech last week, including two in the red zone and a pick-six that went back 100 yards. They had four giveaways and ten penalties, against a team they ended up beating by 31. Although the Ole Miss defense had its struggles in Week 1, expect them to be better, and to capitalize if LSU’s offense is sloppy and keeps turning it over.
Skin in the Game: Back Ole Miss +2.5. Kiffin went 3-3 against LSU during his time at Ole Miss, and the home team won every single one of those games. Add in a stadium that will be as hostile as any environment in the country this season, getting points with the home team looking for revenge feels like the play. Remember this is for fun, not your rent money.

Bengals vs. Texans | Sunday, 1:00 PM (CBS): Houston opens at home after a tough loss to Buffalo, where the defense that was supposed to be the league's best gave up 36 points. Cincinnati brings an offense that can put pressure on anyone. Look to see if Houston’s defense can bounce back against Joe Burrow and one of the best offenses in the league.
Colts vs. Chiefs | Sunday, 8:20 PM (NBC): Kansas City missed the playoffs last season for the first time since 2014 after Mahomes tore his ACL and LCL in December, and plenty of people wrote them off heading into this year. Then Monday night happened. Mahomes returned nine months after surgery and accounted for three touchdowns in a 31-10 dismantling of Denver, with new addition Kenneth Walker III running for a career-high 173 yards. Now the question is whether that was one game or a sign of what they’ll be this season. Indianapolis is the next test.
Commanders vs. Cowboys | Sunday, 4:25 PM (FOX): A division rivalry where both teams need it. Dallas lost its opener to the Giants after an offseason of hype, and Washington is coming off a close one in Philadelphia. The matchup to watch is the Cowboys' defense against Jayden Daniels, who will be looking for a much better outing than he had last week. Neither of these teams want to drop another division game after losing in Week 1.
