Baseball's playoffs are underway, and tonight we get a win or go home game.
The Wild Card round started Tuesday with four best of three series. The Division Series start Saturday, when the top seeds finally get involved.
There's plenty of football too. Kansas City and Las Vegas meet both coming in with 3-0 records. In college football, two Heisman candidates go head to head, and Ohio State gets a tough road matchup against one of the season's biggest surprises.

Twelve teams make the MLB playoffs. The top two seeds in each league (AL and NL) got a bye and haven't played yet. Everyone else opened in the Wild Card round, a best of three series with all three games at the higher seed’s ballpark. Win two and you advance. The Division Series start Saturday and are best of five, followed by the Championship Series and the World Series.
Where things stand:
Braves vs. Phillies: Tonight these teams play the last game of the Wild Card round, and are the only teams still facing elimination. Atlanta won Game 1 5-3, Philadelphia took Game 2 4-3 in extra innings. The winner faces the Dodgers, who have won the last two World Series and are widely considered the best team in baseball.
Yankees vs. Red Sox: New York swept Boston in two games. Game 1 was a 9-0 win headlined by Cam Schlittler and Ben Rice. Schlittler threw 6 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts, and Rice hit two home runs, including a grand slam. Game 2 was another blowout. New York gets the Rays on Saturday. Tampa Bay was one of the season's surprises and finished with the best record in the American League, but the Yankees won four of their last five meetings.
White Sox advance: Chicago swept Houston, taking Game 2 7-3. It's their first playoff series win since the 2005 World Series coming off a season where they were one of the bottom teams in the league. They get Cleveland in the Division Series, Game 1 Saturday at 1 PM.
Padres advance: San Diego swept the Cubs, opening with an 8-0 win and closing it out Wednesday night. They draw Milwaukee, who finished with the best record in baseball this season.
The four teams waiting: The Rays and Guardians in the American League, the Brewers and Dodgers in the National League. They've been watching all week, and Saturday all four finally play.
CHIEFS VS RAIDERS | SUNDAY 4:25 PM, CBS

The stakes: Both teams are 3-0, and Las Vegas has been one of the biggest surprises in the NFL. They won three games all of last season and matched it in three weeks.
The Raiders took Fernando Mendoza first overall after he won the Heisman and a national title at Indiana, and he hasn't played a snap this regular season. Kirk Cousins has turned back the clock at 38, throwing three touchdown passes in each of the first three games to tie for the league lead. The only other quarterback to do that at that age was Tom Brady.
Kansas City was a team many thought would be in a transition year, and they've impressed. Mahomes looks ahead of schedule coming off a torn ACL, and newly signed, Ken Walker has looked like one of the best backs in the league, leading the NFL with 38 forced missed tackles.
What to watch for: Brock Bowers. He played his first game of the year last week after minor knee surgery and caught 10 of the 13 balls thrown his way for 116 yards and a touchdown. He's the center of the Raider’s offense.
Watch how early and how often he gets the ball. If Cousins is finding him on the opening drives, Las Vegas is in good shape. If Kansas City pays him extra attention and takes him away, the Raiders have to win with their other weapons, and that's a much harder ask.
Skin in the Game: I'm taking the Chiefs -4.5 here. Las Vegas is coming off an emotional fourth-quarter comeback in New Orleans, and those games tend to take something out of a team. Kansas City played down to Miami last week and still won, with Mahomes saying afterward they can be better. I don't see them turning in that kind of flat performance twice in a row, especially against a division rival. Remember this is for fun, not your rent money.

QUICK HITS

Ohio State vs. Iowa | Sat 3:30 PM (CBS): Ohio State hasn't played at Iowa since 2017, when Iowa beat them 55-24. Ryan Day was the co-offensive coordinator then and has called it a scar that doesn't go away. Iowa is 4-0 and just won at Michigan on a touchdown in the final seconds. Ohio State is 3-1 and favored by 13.5 but this game is likely to be closer than the spread suggests.
Alabama vs. Mississippi State | Sat 12:00 PM (ABC): Two 4-0 teams and two quarterbacks in the Heisman conversation. Kamario Taylor has taken college football by storm as a dark horse Heisman candidate, dragging a dormant program back to relevance. Alabama had a down year by its standards last season, but has bounced back behind Keelon Russell, who has played his way onto the Heisman board.
Patriots vs. Bills | Sun 1:00 PM (CBS): The theme of last week’s newsletter was whether a bad performance was a bad game or a bad sign. Drake Maye is looking more and more like a bad sign. Last season he was the MVP runner up and took New England to the Super Bowl. Through three games this year he's thrown six interceptions to one touchdown and looked like one of the worst quarterbacks in the league. Now he gets Buffalo, and the microscope is on him to see if he’s able to turn it around.
WNBA Playoffs | Tonight & Sunday: The Aces and Fever play a winner take all Game 3 tonight. The semifinals start Sunday, best of five, and the Finals begin on the 17th. The biggest surprise so far came Tuesday, when the Liberty swept the Lynx, the first time a No. 8 seed has eliminated a No. 1 seed in the league's 30-year history.
Colts vs. Commanders | Sun 9:30 AM (NFL Network): The annual London game, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, kicking off at 9:30am ET. Both teams are 1-2 and need this one.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Must-watch:
Chiefs vs. Raiders (Sun 4:25 PM, CBS): Two 3-0 teams in a Divisional matchup.
Phillies vs. Braves (Tonight, 8:00 PM, NBC): Win or go home, the only one left.
Division Series Game 1s (Sat, TBS/FOX): The four rested teams finally play.
Worth tuning in:
Alabama vs. Mississippi State (Sat 12:00 PM, ABC): Kamario Taylor vs. Keelon Russell.
Ohio State vs. Iowa (Sat 3:30 PM, CBS): Ohio State first time back in Iowa since their 2017 loss.
Aces vs. Fever (Tonight, 9:00 PM, USA): Winner take all Game 3 to reach the semifinals.
Patriots at Bills (Sun 1:00 PM, CBS): Can Maye bounce back?
Commanders vs. Colts (Sun 9:30 AM, NFL Network): First London game of the season.
